The Location
Port Angeles is located on the Olympic Peninsula, (See the Map), an area that offers miles of puzzle-like shorelines, alpine meadows crowned with glaciers, and dense rainforest valleys. Port Angeles, a city of 19,000, residents is going through a wonderful time of change, and many good things are happening in the area. The city and the downtown business community are spending millions of dollars to renovate and beautify the waterfront town, as residents continue to strive to make Port Angeles "Flower City, USA." |
The city is known for its abundance of outdoor activities, including climbing, hiking, kayaking, mountain biking, sailing, skiing, surfing, and SCUBA diving. Port Angeles is also known for its eccentric artwork in the downtown area. There are many sculptures found on the sidewalks. The sculptures often change from season to season, although some of the more popular sculptures (such as a sculpture of a moss covered octopus near the Marine Life Center) have remained for many years.
The city is the home of Peninsula College and Olympic Park Institute, both of which offer classroom and outdoor learning experiences, adding to the richness and opportunities of the area. |

The Pennisnsula is home to Olympic National Park where you will find Pacific Ocean beaches, rainforest valleys, glacier-capped peaks and a stunning variety of plants and animals. Roads provide access to the outer edges of the park, but the heart of Olympic is wilderness; a primeval sanctuary for humans and wild creatures alike.
