MEDICAL DIRECTOR - Our client is an 83-bed community hospital located in the high desert region of Southern California.
The community population 100,000 is within a 1.5 hour drive of southern California beaches, Palm Springs, and near ski resorts, mountain. Stream fishing, hunting and biking. Las Vegas is two hours drive away. Many physicians commute from L.A. and San Bernardino since it is a reverse commute.
The Hospital has immediate plans for a major expansion by roughly 68 beds. Beginning summer 2008, the hospital will begin expanding its emergency department. Additionally, the hospital will break ground on a new, 50,000-square-foot wing in 2009. The addition will include 12 new intensive care unit rooms, 2 cardiovascular cath labs, an open-heart surgery center and a cardiology nuclear medicine diagnostic system.
Our ideal candidate is a physician leader with strong clinical skills in internal medicine, pulmonology and/or critical care medicine. The Medical Director will wear several “hats” as an administrator and clinical practitioner. With responsibility for resource management and LOS, you will work day-to-day with case managers, admitting physicians and the emergency department. As an administrator of the hospital based Medical Group, you will oversee physician call schedules. Additionally you will be part of a dynamic management team consisting of the Hospital administrator, and the system CEO.
Requirements for this position include Board Certification and an active CA Medical license. Specialties may include IM, Geriatrics, Pulmonary Medicine or Critical Care.
The remuneration package includes a salary range of $250-360,000 depending on experience and training, plus bonus, liability, health, and disability insurance, time off for vacation, CME, and holidays, and 401K participation.
Homes in the tri-cities of Victorville, Apple Valley and Hesperia are very affordable i.e. 2200 sq/ft for $300,000. There are lakeside and custom homes and for the horse lover, ranches with acreage. This is a safe community for families with both public and private schools. There are several public golf courses and nearby lakes. The climate is seasonal. Winters can be cold and it may even snow, and during the hotter summer months, there is always an afternoon breeze to cool you off.

Outstanding hospitalist opportunity with a Hospitalist group at a 238-bed hospital facility located in Troy, NY.
A dedicated Med/Peds Hospitalist Team of four full and part-time med/peds hospitalist physicians provides on-site service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Day shifts are generally 7 am to 7 pm, night shifts are from 7 pm to 7 am. The schedule consists of four to seven days on and four to seven days off. Each full time hospitalist will work 192 hours of clinical professional medical services per month, consisting of approximately 12 and eight-hour shifts. The Hospitalist team provides service response for codes, consultations, inpatient episodic medical care, ICU procedures, unassigned ED call and patient admission/discharge. Assists with deliveries; 20-30% of practice is pediatrics.
